The Classical Riding Club, The British Horse Society, World Horse Welfare, The FEI Veterinary Group and The Dressage Task Force have all received the 9 page document below from Eva Lydeking-Olsen, Demark. The document is a short Paper that describes the consequences of rollkur/hyperflexion, on the welfare of the horse, based on insights into the effect of training with diminished air-flow, thus altering the acid-alkaline balance in tissues/brain, the production of endorphins and the stress-response. This document and its copyright has been sent to CRC in the hope that it may be submitted as a contribution towards the “Scientific Evidence” that the FEI are demanding in the light of their investigations into the practice of Rollkur. We have now made it available to all visitors to The Classical Riding Club Website in the hope that it will go a long way to answering many unanswered questions concerning those effects the practice of Rollkur has on the horse which may or may not be so easily discernible. We believe it to be a well-researched and thoughtful document to add to the wealth of evidence (both practical and ethical) now stacking up against Rollkur from many excellent sources including Dr. Gerd Heuschmann, Dr Andrew McLean, Dr Paul McGreevy to name just a few on the veterinarian side, as well as other international figures, not least many committed horsemen and women. We are very grateful indeed to Eva for this full and excellent report with regard to the damage inflicted upon the horse by Rollkur. Please click on the picture below to download.
