Interpretation of "Classical": Classical is the way of working with the horse, to enhance his physical and mental wellbeing. It is the way to help him find the means to improve upon what nature has already given to amplify the gaits and to do so without force. It also entails educating the rider to first find balance on a moving horse and then to refine the aiding as far as possible.

Interpretation of "Classical": To me, classical means educating the horse physically and mentally so that he can be relaxed and happy in his work. This means teaching riders to train with knowledge of
correct biomechanics and kind and positive methods.

Interpretation of "Classical": For me, classical in terms of dressage means time-proven, biomechanically sound, and intellectually stimulating. Classically trained horses become thoughtful, respectful, but truly free individuals that show their riders great affection and respect because the riding makes them feel good in their bodies. Horses and riders find longevity in their riding careers through classical techniques, as they are time-proven to be biomechanically sound, but they also can be restored to health through these techniques through careful schooling. Classical riding is restorative to both horse and rider physically, peaceful spiritually, and anything but boring mentally.
